Court Annexed Substance Abuse Counseling Program
The Douglas Judicial Circuit has implemented a pilot substance abuse counseling program as part of its effort to deal with this growing problem in our community. That program is called SHARP (Sobriety, Hope and Relapse Prevention). Dennis L. Herendeen, Ph.D, directs the operation of the program which includes regular meetings conducted at the Old Douglas County Courthouse on Monday and Wednesday evenings. The program serves individuals who have been required to obtain substance abuse counseling by one of the courts of the Circuit. It is provided to them at no cost.
