Starting in May: Mosquito Spraying in Douglas County
The Douglas County DOT's Maintenance Division will be proactively spraying for mosquitoes from May - September. All spraying will be done between 6 - 10 p.m., the most active time for mosquitoes, Sundays - Thursdays.
Please do your part! Please empty anything from your yard that can collect stormwater so that the mosquitoes cannot find anywhere to lay their eggs!

The Dept. of Family and Children's Services has a centralized intake system at 1.855.422.4453. The Douglas County Board of Commissioners is considering calling for a referendum in the November 8th General Election for a one-cent Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) for capital improvements and construction projects. If called and approved by the voters, the SPLOST would be for 6 years beginning April 2017 and is estimated to bring in $160 million.
The BOC is asking for input/project ideas from the Public during a series of meeting, as follows:
