Now Accepting Applications - Citizen's Government Academy - A Great Way to Get to Know Your County!
For most people, civics lessons were given in middle or high school, and then we moved on to our chosen profession. But just like the rest of the world, government has changed since then, and many people may not have updated themselves on how government functions and what programs and services are offered.
The Douglas County Citizens' Government Academy is designed to educate residents about County government, and give them a working knowledge of the County to better understand the intricacies of local government. The class runs for 10 weeks and includes information on how the County works, who is responsible for what, and what steps you can take to make a difference. Participants get a behind-the-scenes look at their government, meet staff, and tour County facilities.
It's a first-hand look you don't want to miss! Classes start March 26th - apply now by clicking below.
