To all vanpoolers leaving from Lee Road:
The Lee Road Park and Ride Lot is closed. New parking for the vans and personal vehicles associated with the vanpool program has been secured at Lithia Park. The map below indicates the location of this new park and ride location. It is requested that all vans and cars associated with the vanpool program current leaving from Lee Road now use the Lithia Park location, and that they park in the back of the park by the dumpster. This 'Pay online' option is for existing Douglas County Rideshare patrons only. If you have not registered with the Douglas County Rideshare office, located at 8800 Dorris Road, Douglasville Ga 30134, do NOT pay to join one of these vans. You will need to sign a release and staff will need to verify that there is, in fact, space available on the van.
Douglas County Rideshare is a commuter-oriented program that operates work-trip vanpools, provides carpool-matching assistance, builds and maintains commuter facilities and participates in transit and public transportation planning and marketing. Rideshare has been serving Douglas County commuters since 1986.
Lee Road Park and Ride Closure
Rideshare offers dependable, safe and economical vanpool service to many metro Atlanta work locations. Vans leave central locations in Douglas County Monday through Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. Return trips to Douglas County are offered from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Vanpool service is offered at an affordable monthly fee. Pricing for vanpool service is based on zones determined from the location that the vanpool originates. Zone maps for each of Douglas County Rideshare's vanpools are as follows: "Transportation Center", "Douglas Boulevard", "Thornton Road", "Post Road", "Liberty Road", "Highway 61", "Brownsville Road", "Food Depot".
X-press Bus Service
The Georgia Regional Transportation Authority (GRTA) offers express bus service between Douglas County and downtown Atlanta and midtown Atlanta Monday through Friday. Buses leave from and return to the Douglas County Transportation Center at 8800 Dorris Road in Douglasville (behind the courthouse). For more information on this service, go to www.XpressGA.com and click on the information for Route 460 (Transportation Center to downtown Atlanta), 470 (Thornton Road to downtown Atlanta), or 461 (Douglas Boulevard to Transportation Center to midtown Atlanta).
Some metro Atlanta sites are not served by Rideshare vanpools. For commuters who travel to these locations, Rideshare offers a free matching service to help with forming carpools.
Douglas County Transportation Center
Rideshare's offices are in the Douglas County Transportation Center behind the Douglas County Courthouse in Douglasville. The transportation center has a customer service/administration building and 650 parking spaces, and serves as the hub for vanpools, carpools and express bus service. The address for the Transportation Center, which is open Monday - Friday from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m., is 8800 Dorris Road. The phone number is 770-949-7665.
