The Boundary Waters Park is a 500-acre facility, approximately 300 of which will be dedicated to active recreation, and the remaining 200 for passive recreation, including multi-use equestrian, hiking, running, and biking trails, picnic, and playground areas.

UPDATED 2/6/12-TEMPORARY TRAIL CLOSING-Chattahoochee Hill Country Trail Project
Updates will soon follow as to where the new trail head will be, what trails will be closed, what the temporary rules will be, when the closing will be, as well as other important information regarding the use of the trails during the period of construction. Chattahoochee Hill Country Regional Trail includes portions of four counties: Carroll, Coweta, Douglas, and Fulton. Approximately 33,000 acres in Fulton County was incorporated as the City of Chattahoochee Hills in December 2007. A 98-mile trail is planned to interconnect all parts of the CHC. Implementing this plan is a long-term project, with the first trail segment being constructed in the Boundary Waters Park in Douglas County. Trail Construction is to begin approximately by the end of October and to be complete by summer of 2012. See CHCT and Greenway Trail links for further information

Boundary Waters Aquatic Center & Sports Complex which includes baseball and soccer complex, trails, and aquatics, will be closed all day to all organized and leisure events and activities including Sunday, May 20th due to the American Diabetes Association, Tour de Cure bicycle road race & event being hosted by Douglas County Parks & Recreation at Boundary Waters Park. This facility is the central hub area for the race which spans a few hundred miles over 4 different counties.
