Services are available to all Douglas County residents age 60 and older, and include the following services.
Congregate Meal Program Closed for Two Weeks
Due to the recent Corona Virus Pandemic the Douglas County Senior Center will be closed until further notice. The senior center will not be providing transportation to the center, no meals will be served at the center and no activities will take place. Meals on Wheels and Non-Emergency Medical Transportation will continue at this time. Homemaker services have been suspended until further notice.

Home Delivered Meals
The Home Delivered Meals program provides hot nutritious meals, nutrition education, and nutrition risk screenings to individuals 60 years of age or over who are either homebound, unable to prepare their own meals, at nutritional risk, or otherwise isolated. All meals are prepared on-site daily by certified food service personnel using approved menus designed to provide one-third of the USDA recommended allowance. Meals are delivered five days per week, Mon. - Fri. For information on becoming a Meals on Wheels volunteer, please call 770.920.4294.
Homemaker Services are designed to strengthen the capacity of older adults to maintain their independence. Services include light housekeeping, laundry, essential shopping, medication pickup, and limited transportation services.

Information & Assistance and Care Management services are designed to assist the older adult and their family in obtaining the services needed to maintain independence and remain at home. Case managers are knowledgeable of available community resources and are skilled in evaluating an individual's needs, and are able to make referrals within and outside the department.

The Congregate Meals program provides hot, nutritious meals Monday through Friday at the Douglas County Senior Center located at 6287 Fairburn Road, Douglasville. With a focus on wellness, the center provides a variety of educational and recreational opportunities designed to promote social interaction and physical wellbeing. Transportation to/from the center is available.
Medical transportation focuses on residents who are 60 or over, but also accepts residents who are under 60 with a disability. Transportation is available throughout Douglas County and to limited areas outside of the county. The service works on a first come, first served basis and utilizes a newly purchased wheelchair equipped lift van.

The Woodie Fite Senior Center is an adult recreation and educational facility for those over the age of 55, and serves active adults with activities and fitness to keep seniors feeling young.
