Living. Growing. Prospering.
The mission of the Family Treatment Court of the Douglas County Juvenile Court is to develop and sustain a collaborative systematic team approach to promote healthy, stable, permanent, drug free and safe families for children whose parents have substance use issues.
The Family Treatment Court (FTC) Team is made up of a Coordinator, two Case Managers, two Peer Support Specialists, and a Child Services Case Manager. This team approaches all clients in a non-adversarial way and helps them to be assessed and placed in the most appropriate treatment setting as quickly as possible. Team case management includes all members working together to offer a supportive, encouraging relationship to help families to be reunited.
The Bigger Team
This team is made up of all FTC staff, the Judge, Department of Family and Children Services, CASA, the Parent Attorney, the Child Attorney, the Surveillance Officer, and all treatment providers utilized by FTC. This team staffs clients every other week to ensure services are in place and are being followed. This is a non-adversarial approach by the whole team. FTC strives to hold clients accountable and to also treat them in a way that encourages success and reunification.
