NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Douglas County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at 6:00 PM during their regularly scheduled Commission meeting to consider amending Sec. 14-72 of the Douglas County Code of Ordinances to remove the truck restriction from certain roads where trucks are currently prohibited.

The Board of Commissioners legislative and voting meetings occur in Citizens Hall at the Douglas County Courthouse, 8700 Hospital Drive.

The closure of the Mozley Street railroad crossing requires a new detour route to be established for trucks and passenger vehicles until the railroad underpass section of the State Route 92 widening project is completed and the new road is opened to traffic.

The roads currently under active consideration are segments of the following streets within unincorporated Douglas County:

  • North Burnt Hickory Road from US Route 78 to Maroney Mill Road
  • Maroney Mill Road from North Burnt Hickory Road to State Route 92

Any citizen wishing to provide comments regarding this proposal may do so during the public hearing session on February 20, 2018.
