NOTICE OF APPLICATIONS - FEDERAL TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION SECTION 5307 AND SECTION 5339 FORMULA FUNDS


The Douglas County Board of Commissioners, through its Rideshare/Multi-Modal Transportation Services program, is considering applying for Section 5307 Urbanized Area Formula Funds and Section 5339 Bus Funds from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA).

The Section 5307 funds will be used for two projects: (1) To renovate and equip garage space to be used for the maintenance and repair of federally-funded transit vehicles, and (2) The purchase of 10 replacement vans for the Rideshare commuter vanpool program. In this application, Douglas County is requesting $660,390 in federal funds which will require a Douglas County match of $165,097.

The Section 5339 funds will be used for two projects: (1) To purchase four 15-passenger buses that will be used to implement fixed route/ADA demand response service in January 2018, and (2) To purchase signs, shelters and passenger amenities for the fixed route bus service. In this application, Douglas County is requesting $483,809 in federal funds which will require a Douglas County match of $120,953.

For the two applications, Douglas County is requesting federal funds totaling $1,144,199, which will require a $286,050 match from Douglas County.
