8700 Hospital Drive
The Atlanta Regional Work Source Georgia Mobile Career Lab is now scheduling visits to the Douglas County Courthouse to assist residents in their work search. The Mobile Career Lab, which looks like a large recreational vehicle, contains 12 computer work stations and staff to help residents in job searches, resume writing, and interview preparation.

The free service is provided by the Atlanta Regional Commission, of which Douglas County is a member. The Mobile Career Lab is almost always on the move serving Cherokee, Clayton, Gwinnett, Rockdale, Fayette and Henry Counties in addition to Douglas. The Mobile Career Lab will be at the Courthouse at 8700 Hospital Drive on the 4th Thursday of each month from 1:30 - 4 p.m. If interest grows in the Lab's services, the ARC will consider visiting additional dates and times.

Career Counselors man the Lab and can help residents discover a career path using a computerized comprehensive assessment test that will measure their aptitudes, skills and interests. The Career Counselors can also determine training opportunities, and eligibility for residents to possibly receive tuition, fees and child care during training. Residents may use the computers for on-line job searches, and may print copies of their resumes in the Lab.

The Mobile Career Lab will next visit the Courthouse on Thursday, September 28th from 1:30 - 4 p.m., but will also be present and open during the September Saturdays Festival on September 23rd and 30th at the Courthouse.

ARC hopes that this high visibility location will encourage more Douglas County residents to take advantage of their offered services. The Mobile Career Lab is fully accessible, and is open to all residents ages 18 and above, including senior citizens looking for re-employment or supplemental income.
