RITA FASINA-THOMAS ELECTED CHAIRMAN OF KEEP DOUGLAS COUNTY BEAUTIFUL


Douglasville, GA (April 20, 2018) – The Keep Douglas County Beautiful Commission elected Rita Fasina-Thomas as the first-ever Chairman of the Commission on April 19, 2018. The Keep Douglas County Beautiful Commission was formed by the Douglas County Board of Commissioners on December 4, 2017 and the organization is scheduled to become an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful on April 30, 2018.

Ms. Fasina-Thomas began her long-term career in operations and training initially as a partner of Pennycook Supermarkets. She hails from Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica, and was educated at Rosary Academy and Syracuse University. From there, she worked for the Federal Government in Rome, NY, and Torrejon AB, Madrid Spain.

Upon returning to the United States, Rita started a 25-year career with Burger King Corp, where she distinguished herself with her ability to lead and train teams. After her career with Burger King, Rita founded Distinctive Ops Services, a business consulting company that specializes in operations, classroom workshops, training, and Human Resource Systems.

She is the founder of the Ademola A. Fasina-Thomas, Jr. Foundation, an organization that awards scholarships to economically disadvantaged high school seniors. Ms. Fasina-Thomas is also 2016 graduate of Leadership Douglas and was selected as the 2015 Douglas County Chamber of Commerce Diplomat of the Year.
