Douglasville, GA - The Douglas County Commission Chairman Romona Jackson Jones has scheduled a series of quarterly listening sessions for the year. Residents of the community are invited to speak with the Chairman on any topic. The "Walking the Talk Listening Sessions" are designed for participation as opposed to presentation style. This effort is part of Dr. Jones' commitment for enhanced government transparency.

The "Walking the Talk Listening Sessions" have been scheduled for the following dates:

  • Monday, March 4, 2019, (5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m.) Dog River Public Library, 6100 Georgia Highway 5, Douglasville, Ga.
  • Monday, June 10, 2019, (5:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.) Lithia Springs Public Library, 7100 Turner Drive, Lithia Springs, Ga.
  • Saturday, September 21, 2019, (11 a.m. - 5 p.m.) September Saturdays at the Courthouse, 8700 Hospital Drive, Douglasville, Ga.
  • Saturday, November 2, 2019, (1 p.m. - 3 p.m.) Douglas County Public Library, 6810 Selman Drive, Douglasville, Ga.

These events are special because it provides another opportunity to connect with the citizens of Douglas County and listen to their needs," Dr. Jones said. "I believe we as a county will continue to grow if we are willing to listen to each other and build relationships to become the standard of excellence in the State of Georgia."
