Douglasville, GA - Surrounded by music and laughter and a royal atmosphere, fathers and daughters created special memories at the 2019 Fairy Princess Ball held February 8, 2019 in Douglas County. Parks & Recreation staff converted Deer Lick Park Gymnasium into an evening of special entertainment.

Parks and Recreation Superintendent Tracie Ivey said "The facility was adorned with fairy lights, a castle, mote, horse and carriages and lots of smiles as nearly 300 participants enjoyed the festivities"

"The Parks Department will continue its great tradition of offering fun and affordable programs and events such as the Fairy Princess Ball," Ivey said. "Next year, attendees will see some changes but will enjoy the event even more. Stay tuned for a new and improved format with added glam."

This event was a father-daughter Valentine's dance for girls 12 and under to put on their nicest costumes and dresses to be a princess for the night. Dads, Grandpa's, older brothers, and step-dads attended as the girl's dates.

The staff credited members of the community and sponsors for the special evening's success. "Our 2019 Fairy Princess Ball was a huge success," Community Programs Coordinator Tammy Cochran said. "I would like to thank the community and all of our sponsors for their continuous support in making our event a night to remember."
