Living. Growing. Prospering.
Douglasville, GA- The Douglas County's 4th Annual Spay and Neuter Fundraiser Party hosted by Douglas County Animal Services, Douglas County Humane Society, Commissioner Emeritus Mike Mulcare and Mrs. Peggy Mulcare is set to occur on April 13, 2019 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the gymnasium of Deer Lick Park which is located at 2105 Mack Road. "It's bound to be a great night of food and entertainment for a great cause," Animal Services Director Frances McMillan. "All of the proceeds from the event will go towards spaying and neutering pets in the Douglas County area."
There are several benefits of spaying and neutering such as both operations improve long-term health, prevent unwanted litters, and eliminate many behaviors problems associated with the mating instinct.
"Unintended, unwanted and eventually abandoned animals are a real public health and safety problem. Not to mention that it is an animal welfare issue that only ethical and compassionate humans can address," Commissioner Emeritus Mike Mulcare explained. "This event helps fund the spaying and neutering of almost 400 future pets adopted from the shelter – dog and cats that will not be able to contribute to the problem in the future. These funds also assist in spaying and neutering feral cat colonies rather than euthanizing them."
