DOUGLAS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSION CHAIR UNVEILS PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT DUE TO COVID-19 EMERGENCY


Douglasville, GA - On the morning of Friday, March 13, 2020, Douglas County Commission Chair Dr. Romona Jackson Jones recorded a thirty second public service announcement to provide an update on the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

Chairman Jones invited District Health Director of Cobb and Douglas Public Health, Dr. Janet Memark to speak from a medical perspective and briefly advise the public. Also, Chairman Jones was joined by local leaders which included City of Douglasville Mayor Rochelle Robinson, City of Villa Rica Mayor Gil McDougal, Douglas County Administrator Mark Teal, Douglas County School System Superintendent Trent North, Douglas County Deputy Fire/EMS Chief Scott Zachmeyer, Douglas County Emergency Management Agency Director Jason Milhollin, Douglas County Communications and Community Relations Director Rick Martin and Douglas County Senior Services Director Konswella Gilchrist.

The public service announcement will air on dctv 23, Douglas County Government Access Channel, Comcast and various social media platforms. The PSA is scheduled to run through the months of March and April and is immediately available on the Douglas County Government website, CelebrateDouglasCounty.com.
