  1. A Gift of Love Services of West Georgia


    A Gift of Love provides food, clothing and other material assistance to families in distress. A Gift of Love is always in need of school supplies, new shoes in all sizes, new toys and gallon cans of fruits and vegetables. Donations may be dropped off at the Longview Drive location.

  2. Douglas County Homeless Shelter


    The Douglas County Homeless Shelter is for transitional families and emergency shelter. The shelter takes single women and transitional families when space is available. All of the residents must be able to work or seek employment to live there.

  3. Douglas County Task Force

    The Douglas County Task Force is committed to eradicating domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and dating violence through a complete and coordinated community response. Each month local agency representatives and citizens meet to prevent, protect and educate the community on domestic violence, stalking, and sexual assault, and to hold the perpetrators accountable.     The Task Force also offers free awareness education to the community including Church youth groups, congregations, civic organizations, hospitals and employers. Please call 770.575.1875 for more information.

    Victim Services
    The Task Force offers free and confidential services to victims of domestic violence, stalking and sexual assault. Services include but are not limited to assistance in obtaining a Temporary Protective Order, safety planning, support groups, hospital and Court accompaniment, and a 24/7 crisis line.     We offer the following Community Mission Programs: Adopt a family programs to assist those in crisis, food and clothing mission for disaster relief, International tours for Christian Fellowship, Customized training programs for adults and youth, including but not limited to, Parenting Skills Workshops, Business Leader Symposiums, Field Trips, etc., and Back to School Festivals, Performing and Visual Arts Programming, Academic Enrichment and Child Development Tutorials

  5. Habitat for Humanity


    NW Metro Atlanta Habitat for Humanity works to build a stronger community by creating affordable housing in partnership with volunteers and responsible families in need. It is committed to its goal of building simple, decent, affordable housing. Using volunteer labor and donated funds and materials, it builds or rehabilitates houses and sells them to responsible families in need at no profit with no interest charged.

  6. Loving Hands Ministry


    Loving Hands is a local donation center that serves Douglas County. They help those who qualify for assistance and help with items needed. They can use gently worn clothing, (especially children's), dishes, any household items, furniture and even vehicles that are in good condition.

  7. Piece-by-Piece, a Foreclosure Initiative


    The foreclosure crisis continues to threaten the health and vitality of our community. Neighbors are losing their homes in record numbers each month. Georgia consistently ranks within the top 3 - 4 states Nationwide in foreclosure filings.     Piece-by-Piece Has Three Core Pieces
    The first is the "Save A Home" initiative, designed to provide assistance through housing counseling to homeowners who are facing foreclosure.

    • "Save A Home" initiative, through its counseling partner, CredAbility (800-251-2227), talks with frantic mothers, overwhelmed husbands, students and retirees alike - all who feel as if they are on the brink of losing everything. At CredAbility, they listen and understand, 24/7, in English and Spanish, and offer sound advice, practical solutions and realistic hope for a better future. The address the following housing counseling issues: pre-purchase, foreclosure prevention, and reverse mortgage.

    The second is the "Sell A Home" initiative. It is designed to address the inventory of foreclosed properties through their sale resulting in the stabilization of neighborhoods and individual home values.

    • "Sell A Home" initiative. Piece-by-Piece has put together teams consisting of Real Estate Agents, Remodelers and Renovation Loan Officers. These teams, working together, assist homebuyers in the selection of the home of their choice and the custom renovation and remodeling of their new home to their specific needs. The team also includes a loan specialist who can provide the financing necessary to facilitate both the purchase of the home and the renovation, all though one simple mortgage tool.

    The third is the "Un/Under Employment" initiative. This initiative addresses the creation of jobs within the construction industry and the trickle-down effect of these jobs throughout our local community.

    • "Un/Under Employment" initiative puts builders, Realtors, and supporting professionals back to work as we address the unemployment issue in our community.

  9. SHARE House


    S.H.A.R.E. House provides an array of services for victims of domestic violence. Helping victims of domestic violence with: developing a safety plan, obtaining safe shelter, filing for a Temporary Protective Order (TPO), and other services as appropriate to each individual situation.

  11. The Pantry


    The Pantry is a community food ministry located on Stewart Parkway in Douglasville. They are open every Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon and provide free canned goods and other food items to local families in need.

    United Way exists for one reason - to help us come together as one community to identify and address the issues that affect all of us.   13. West Georgia Elves, Inc.


    The West Georgia Elves is an organization of volunteers from throughout the West Georgia area. Along with support from the local business community, we are committed to serving families of children with serious illnesses. While providing Christmas gifts to these children and their siblings is our main focus, we provide support to these families throughout the entire year.

    We are a 501(c)(3) organization and all donations and sponsorships are tax deductible to the extent of the law. 100% of all donations go to a family in need.
