CLEAA began in 2000 by a group of graduates from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office's Citizens Law Enforcement Academy classes. The group grew, and in 2005, CLEAA received its legal 501(c)(3) not-for-profit status.

CLEAA is composed of graduates from either or both of the City of Douglasville Police Department or Douglas County Sheriff's Department's Citizens Law Enforcement Academy classes. 7. Pilot Club of Sweetwater

Pilot Club of Sweetwater is a service organization that is part of Pilot International. Our international focus is on brain-related injuries and disorders. We have adjusted this focus to fit the Sweetwater Area Community which includes Douglas County. Our local project is the Brainminders Puppet Show. It is designed for children to teach them to protect their brains with helmets and the watching for traffic and hazards in play areas. Pilot International was founded and chartered in 1921 as an international service organization. The river boat pilots of the early 1900s are the inspiration for the name. These pilots were admired for their ability to steer a "true course" through challenging conditions and obstacles. Today, Pilot International has approximately 500 clubs and more than 25,000 adult and youth members.
