Post Road/Bankhead Highway/Mann Road/Mason Creek Road Intersection Reconstruction Project
The proposed project will add a traffic signal at the intersection of Bankhead Highway/Mann Road/Mason Creek Road; left-turn lanes in all directions; and right-turn lanes on Bankhead Highway and Mason Creek Road. The northern end of Post Road will be re-routed to Mason Creek Road so the existing angled intersection with Bankhead Highway will be eliminated. Conners Road North at Bankhead Highway will be re-aligned into a perpendicular intersection, and the angled intersection of Conners Road South with Bankhead Highway will be eliminated.

Please see downloadable document on the right-hand side of this page for a graphic of the proposed project.

Highway 5/Banks Mill Road/Pool Road/Dorsett Shoals Road Roundabout
The Georgia Department of Transportation is having their consultant team re-scope their ideas to include looking at other alternatives that have less impact to property owners. They are essentially going back to the drawing board. The plans have not yet changed, but will as the concept design moves forward. There likely will be another meeting in the future that shows more alternatives for the public to view and comment. The Douglas County DOT will stay deeply involved to make sure the new/changed alternatives make sense and have as little impact to the public as possible.
