It was great! Thanks for coming! The 9th annual September Saturdays Festival was a tremendous success! It's estimated that over 20,000 people came together in the spirit of community to have fun, meet old friends, greet new ones, and experience what it is like to be part of the Douglas County family!

- Movies - on the outdoor Courthouse screen each Saturday night

Communities in Schools of Douglas County
Communities in Schools of Douglas County (CISDC) builds partnerships that bring needed community resources into schools to help students successfully learn. CISDC programs are tailored to he needs of the schools and the students.
- Mission: To champion the connection of needed community resources with schools to help young people successfully learn, stay in school and prepare for life.
- Five Basics - Every child needs and deserves:
- a personal one-on-one relationship with a caring adult;
- a safe place to learn and grow;
- a marketable skill to use upon graduation;
- a chance to give back to peers and the community; and
- a healthy start and a healthy future.
- Goals:
- Reduce the number of dropouts
- Improve school attendance
- Enhance personal, educational, and social development
- Improve self-esteem of students
- Improve job readiness skills
- Increase socially acceptable behavior in the classroom, at home, in the community and coordinate timely and integrated delivery of service to youth and their families from and within the educational settings
