The Friends of the Dog River Library is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was originally formed to help the creation of the Dog River Library. Its first efforts were book drives to create the opening library collection which was successful in placing thousands of books on the shelves when the library opened.

Since that time, the Friends group has held an on-going used book sale inside the library, and has sponsored educational seminars, book readings and other similar events. The annual Arts and Crafts in the Woods is the Friends' big event of the year and has traditionally been held on the first Saturday in November, the anniversary of the library's opening.

Annual memberships run January through December. Your membership contribution is tax-deductible to the extent of the law. The Friends of the Dog River Library is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.
