Education & Professional Career
Teal is a 1986 graduate of Bowdon High School in Carroll County. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Georgia Tech in 1991. He started his career as a construction inspector and project manager in the private sector. From 1994 to 2004, he worked in a variety of roles including public utilities administrator, city engineer, and SPLOST project manager for the City of Carrollton, Georgia.
From 2004 to 2006, he served as the County Engineer in Douglas County before being promoted to head the Development Services Department, which is responsible for directing the operations of the Planning and Zoning Department, Occupational Tax Department, Code Enforcement, and Development Control.
