Transportation Voucher Program

General Information

The Connect Douglas Transportation Voucher Program is designed to assist seniors and people with disabilities in meeting their transportation needs. Eligible participants use assigned vouchers to pay for trips from partnering private Transportation Providers that operate like a taxi service. Vouchers can be used to travel in and outside of Douglas County to destinations around Metro-Atlanta.

All participants can receive up to $400 in vouchers each month at a cost of $20 per month.

The Transportation Voucher Program is funded by a grant from the Atlanta Regional Commission and financed in part by funds provided by the U.S Government through the Georgia Department of Human Services. 

Eligibility Requirements

Douglas County residents are eligible to participate in the Voucher Program due to age or disability.

For Seniors:

    • Must be at least 65 years old
    • Must be a Douglas County Resident
    • Possess a valid Georgia ID (ID Card, Driver’s License)

For Individuals with a Disability:

    • Must be at least 18 years old
    • Must be a Douglas County Resident
    • Possess a valid Georgia ID (ID Card, Driver’s License)
    • Submit documentation of disability from Social Services or an Medical Provider

Joining the Voucher Program

There is currently a waitlist for individuals interested in joining the Voucher Program.  Interested applicants are enrolled into the program in the order they were added to the waitlist.  Waitlisted applicants are notified by phone when they are able to join the program.
