The next meeting of the project Steering Committee will be August 20, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at the Dog River Library. The Draft Scenic Byway Designation Application will be discussed as a prelude to initiating the development of the Corridor Management Plan. In addition to the history and context documented through the initial analysis of the corridor, eight potential Corridor Management Issues have been identified. This list was developed based on preliminary feedback and discussion among the project Steering Committee and other stakeholders along Byway Corridor. Additional description of each potential issue is provided in the full text of the Draft Scenic Byway Designation Application. These issues, and any others identified by community members, will be included in the final Corridor Management Plan.
Save the date for the first Public Open House on the South Douglas Scenic Byway. This will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Douglas County Courthouse, 8700 Hospital Drive, Douglasville, GA 30134. A second meeting is scheduled for November. Meetings are free and open to the public. Tell you family and neighbors!
