The Comprehensive Plan Update is coming together! Several blog posts will take a deep dive to explain some critical features of the land use element of the plan. The land use element is a central piece of the vision for how Douglas County will develop in the future. Through our steering committee meetings, public engagement opportunities and community survey, we are ready to present the draft concepts for your feedback.
You can access the draft land use concepts in several ways. All information is available both online and in-person. You can review the information posted on our website and through our various blog entries at this site. You can also use this link to give feedback on all of the draft concepts through an online survey.
There are presentation boards with this information set up at several library locations, park buildings and senior centers. You can use the QR code on each of these boards to provide feedback to our online survey. You can also come to the Development Services Department for one of our Open House sessions, which will be held every Friday between March 17 and April 28 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. These open house sessions will be in the Development Services suite on the ground floor of the Douglas County Courthouse. See address information for all of these sites at the bottom of this post.
Finally, there will be opportunities to engage with Planning and Zoning staff at all of the upcoming Planning and Zoning Board Meetings and Community Information Meetings. There will District Town Hall Events and other presentations given upon request. If you would like to request a presentation to your community group, please contact the Planning and Zoning Department to get it scheduled.
