The Douglas County Courthouse will be filled with ghosts, goblins, ballerinas, superheroes, and laughter on Friday, October 29, 2021, as Douglas County employees continue, for the 15th year in a row, Trick or Treating in the Courthouse. The purpose of the event is to bring the community together and provide a safe place for children to have fun.
Children 12 and under and accompanied by an adult are welcomed to attend. They can go door to door and visit the offices inside the Courthouse marked with a smiling jack-o’-lantern. Costumes are encouraged! Trick-or-Treating in the Courthouse will be Friday afternoon from 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Early arrivals will have to wait inside Citizen’s Hall until start time. It is a free event and is open to public. The event is hosted by the Douglas County Board of Commissioners and County Administrator Sharon D. Subudan.
