CONNECT DOUGLAS ANNOUNCES
INAUGURAL PARATRANSIT ADVISORY BOARD MEETING
WHAT: Connect Douglas is hosting the inaugural Paratransit Advisory Board meeting both in-person and virtual on Wednesday, December 14. The Connect Douglas Americans with Disabilities Plan requires a mechanism to obtain feedback and suggestions about its paratransit service and is a federal requirement.
To meet this requirement, Connect Douglas appoints a Paratransit Advisory Board which meets regularly. This advisory board can make recommendations and suggestions to Connect Douglas staff about the current paratransit service regarding its performance and operations. The board has no authority to set policy or direct the operations of the service.
Any recommendations sent forward to Connect Douglas or the Board of Commissioners for implementation require a simple majority vote. To conduct voting business, the Connect Douglas Paratransit Advisory Board must have five members present.
