Douglas County Animal Services Seeking Helping Hand from Community
Douglas County, Animal Services building is without running water, and portions of the facility are without power due to the freezing temperatures experienced over the past few days. Residents located in affected rooms have been moved to other areas where they are comfortable.
We want to emphasize that all the animals in our care are warm, healthy, and being cared for and that Animal Services is still running without interruptions to service, but we could use a helping hand from the community. Douglas County Animal Services is accepting donations of clean towels and bedding to support our efforts.
Right now, cleaning efforts are underway. Therefore, the building will remain closed for the remainder of the week to the public to ensure the facility is safe and clean for both people and animals. You can contact Douglas County Animal Services by email or telephone to donate or set up an adoption appointment. Adoptions are by appointment only.
