Douglas County Fire / EMS, Douglasville Police, and Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Participate in Red Cross’ Battle of The Badges Blood Drive

Douglas County, GA – Douglas County Fire/EMS Department, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, and the Douglasville Police Department are working together to save lives in a big way

“We’re trying to rally to get everyone in Douglasville and Douglas County to donate blood,” Lieutenant Joseph Pounds with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said. “We’re no stranger to putting our life on the line to save another, but giving blood is a great way to help another.”

American Red Cross has informed city and county officials they have a shortage of blood, and this Battle of the Badges competition is the first event they can have since the COVID shutdowns occurred.

“Public Safety Agencies and the entire public will be able to donate on May 30, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.,” said Sgt Shannon Dean of the Douglasville Police Department. “We are hosting the donation site at the Douglasville Police Department, Community Room, 2083 Fairburn Rd. Douglasville, GA 30135, but we are all working together.”

The competitors include the public safety agencies in Carroll and Haralson Counties. All donors will receive a beach towel and a Battle of the Badges T-shirt.
