COVID-19 UPDATE:


Effective May 1st beginning at noon, the following trails, walking tracks, and disc golf courses will reopen for public use 8:00 a.m. until dark daily: Boundary Waters Park trails and disc golf course, Deer Lick Park walking track and disc golf course, Dog River trails and disc golf course, the trails and walking track at Clinton Nature Preserve, and the walking tracks at Fairplay Park and Woodrow Wilson Park.

We strongly encourage everyone to adhere to Social Distancing and all other guidelines set forth by the CDC to prevent the spread of COVID19.

All facilities, restrooms, pavilions, and playgrounds are still closed to the public. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation and understanding. Deer Lick Park staff (770) 920-7129 and Boundary Waters Park staff (770) 489-2175 are available for inquiries.

Douglas County Parks and Recreation Department welcomes you to explore nearly 2,000 acres of park land and other recreation facilities in Douglas County. You will have no difficulty finding an activity that suits your interest. The Department offers a variety of activities in our parks, seasonal and special events at local school facilities, and other activities in cooperation with local clubs and civic organizations. The Department sponsors summer day camps; activities for seniors, adults and youth; and various athletic leagues and tournaments. We work with area youth associations and facilitate them through yearly park use agreements in order to provide supervised activities for Douglas County youth.

Douglas County Parks and Recreation Therapeutic Recreation Section strives to deliver the best programs, goods, and services to its customers. We are constantly seeking ways to enhance and add programs, events, classes, etc. This is why we need your help! The Therapeutic Recreation Section relies on competent volunteers, donations of gently used sports equipment, and community support and involvement on a variety of levels.
